Johannes Reiner died on 6 Feb 1769 at Mundelsheim, Ludwigsburg, Baden-Wuerttemberg.

     Anna Juliana Gosch was born on 27 Aug 1708 at Mundelsheim, Ludwigsburg, Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany. She was the daughter of Johann Melchior Gosch and Anna Barbara Kraft. Anna Juliana Gosch married Johannes Reiner, son of Peter Reiners, on 15 May 1743 at Mundelsheim, Ludwigsburg, Baden-Wuerttemberg. Anna Juliana Gosch died on 5 Aug 1766 at age 57.

      Johann Melshoir's surname looks like Tollpsapf, which does not make sense.

     Gottliebin Schwamm was born on 25 Jan 1835 at Mundelsheim, Ludwigsburg, Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany. She was the daughter of Thomas Schwamm and Gottliebin Reiner.

     Jacob Gottfried Schwamm was born on 23 Jun 1861 at Mundelsheim, Ludwigsburg, Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany. He was the son of Jacob Bech and Catharina Barbara Schwamm. Jacob Gottfried Schwamm died on 25 Jun 1861 at Mundelsheim, Ludwigsburg, Baden-Wuerttemberg.

     Hanss Jacob Schwamm was born on 19 Mar 1667. He was the son of Hans Jacob Schwamm and Anna Maria (Unknown). Hanss Jacob Schwamm married Anna Elisabetha Becken, daughter of Hanss Jacob Becken, on 1 May 1694 at Mundelsheim, Ludwigsburg, Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany. Hanss Jacob Schwamm died on 25 Aug 1743 at Mundelsheim, Ludwigsburg, Baden-Wuerttemberg, at age 76.

      This reseacher found Hans Jacob's marriage and death records and the records of his wife and children with his name in Mundelsheim, Germany. However, what is missing is a definitive connection with his name and his parents' names on a birth record which would tie him to the two Schwamm generations before him. To be part of the Schwamm family of Cannstatt and Mundelsheim, our Hanns Jacob would most likely have been born in Mundelsheim. Based on the customary age for males to marry in that town, to marry in 1694 Hanns Jacob would have been born about 1669 or earlier. Those parameters limited the search for Hanns Jacob's birth record.

The mid-1600s Mundelsheim birth records are often difficult to read because of the quality of the handwriting and paper. Three children were born and named Hanns Jacob on 19 Mar 1667 in Mundelsheim, Germany. Two of the three records on the church record page were transcribed but the third child, believed to be our ancestor was missed. In reading all the 1653 – 1681 original Mundelsheim birth records this child was the only Johann Jacob born to a Johann Jacob whose surname appeared to be Schwamm, although it could have been written in the church register as Schropp. There were relatively few Schropps born in Mundelsheim with most dying before 1634 and after that only two birth records clearly labeled as Schropp were found in the mid-1600s, so it is less likely that the record found for Johan Jacob born on 19 Mar 1667 was for a Schropp child.

In addition to recording the 19 Mar 1667 birth of the child Johann Jacob as being that of our ancestor in this database, included are the names and birth dates of two younger potential siblings apparently sharing the same parents with Johann Jacob.

On 1 May 1694 Hanss Jacob Schwamm married Anna Elisabetha Becken, although many websites incorrectly record the marriage to be to Anna Elisabeth Rau, who did not marry into the Schwamm family. A German genealogist's report provided Eugene Bissel concluded Hanss Jacob married Elisabetha Rau (~1667 - 14 Feb 1747), daughter of Geog Rau, on 1 May 1694. The genealogist possibly noted Anna Rau witnessed the first and third christenings of Hanss Jacob Schwamm and Anna Elisabetha Becken's children and made an assumption -- not supported by the marriage record with Becken which clearly shows he married Anna Elisabetha, daughter of Hanns Jacob Becken, the latter surname which could never be mistaken for Rau.

A 1694 marriage is consistent with the typical ways of Mundelsheim in that Jacob junior was about age 27 at the time of his marriage based on the above birth record. Alternatively, this marriage could be that of his father the elder Hans Jacob remarrying Becken at about age 48.

The Schwamm - Becken marriage record shows two dates in the margin -- 1676 and 1688 -- which based on custom are likely death dates and may be helpful for identifying whether the elder or the junior Hans Jacob married Becken. Death dates associated with the elder Hans Jacob born in 1646 are his father who died in 1683, his wife Anna Maria who died in 1675-1676, and his wife Elisabetha who died sometime after 1692 when her last known child was born. For the 1676 date to refer to the death of Anna Maria does not follow because the 18 Apr 1688 date cannot refer to the death of his second wife Elisabetha. So these dates do not support the case of this being the elder Hans Jacob marrying Becken.

In regard to this possibly being the marriage of Hans Jacob junior to Becken, the dates support that possibility. The 1676 date could refer to the death of his mother Anna Maria because his father remarried that year and his father was still alive at the time of this Becken marriage, and the 18 Apr 1688 date is likely the death date of one of Anna Elisabetha Becken's parents. The surnames associated with deaths around 18 Apr 1688 in Mundelsheim do not connect to these families.
