     Kiziah A. Stanley was born in 1839 at Tennessee. She was the daughter of William Stanley and Ida Frances Madrin. Kiziah A. Stanley married Henry George in 1861 at Tennessee.

     Henry George was born a 1836. He married Kiziah A. Stanley, daughter of William Stanley and Ida Frances Madrin, in 1861 at Tennessee.

     PVT Callaway Fulton Stanley was born in 1843 at Knox Co, Tennessee. He was the son of William Stanley and Ida Frances Madrin. PVT Callaway Fulton Stanley married Syntha A. Caldwell on 12 Nov 1865 at Union Co, Tennessee. PVT Callaway Fulton Stanley died in Aug 1871.

      Callaway Fulton Stanley served in the Union Forces
first in 1861 at age 18 with the First Tennesse Infantry and later he enlisted with the Second Cavalry in 1863 at age 19. He filed for a disability pension on 20 Oct 1870 at age 26 and died the following year.

     Syntha A. Caldwell was born a 1845. She married PVT Callaway Fulton Stanley, son of William Stanley and Ida Frances Madrin, on 12 Nov 1865 at Union Co, Tennessee.

     Sarah Elizabeth Stanley was born on 13 Jun 1846 at Anderson Co, Tennessee. She was the daughter of William Stanley and Ida Frances Madrin. Sarah Elizabeth Stanley married Unknown Hicks c 1862. Sarah Elizabeth Stanley married Willis Irick in 1863 at Tennessee. Sarah Elizabeth Stanley died on 19 Sep 1930 at Knox Co, Tennessee, at age 84.

     Unknown Hicks was born a 1837. He married Sarah Elizabeth Stanley, daughter of William Stanley and Ida Frances Madrin, c 1862.

     Willis Irick was born in 1837 at Tennessee. He married Sarah Elizabeth Stanley, daughter of William Stanley and Ida Frances Madrin, in 1863 at Tennessee.

     Vandelia Stanley was born in Dec 1847 at Knox Co, Tennessee. She was the daughter of William Stanley and Ida Frances Madrin. Vandelia Stanley married Unknown Hill a 1863. Vandelia Stanley died in 1864 at Tennessee.

     Unknown Hill was born a 1838. He married Vandelia Stanley, daughter of William Stanley and Ida Frances Madrin, a 1863.

     Lozaney Hall was born a 1838. She married Richard Bledsoe Stanley, son of William Stanley and Ida Frances Madrin, on 26 Sep 1858 at Knox Co, Tennessee.

     Ufines Stanley was born in 1828 at Tennessee. She was the daughter of William Stanley and Ida Frances Madrin. Ufines Stanley married James W. Miller a 1848.

     James W. Miller was born a 1823. He married Ufines Stanley, daughter of William Stanley and Ida Frances Madrin, a 1848.

     Samuel Warwick was born a 1827. He married Nancy Stanley, daughter of William Stanley and Ida Frances Madrin, a 1852.

     Martha Ellen Stanley was born a 1830 at Tennessee. She was the daughter of William Stanley and Ida Frances Madrin. Martha Ellen Stanley married A. L. Smoot a 1850.

      Although Martha Ellen Stanley was listed in the bible record of John Haywood Stanley as being a sister, no dates were given for Martha and she is not included in other online data about the family. She could also be a granddaughter.

     A. L. Smoot was born a 1825. He married Martha Ellen Stanley, daughter of William Stanley and Ida Frances Madrin, a 1850.

     Mary Stanley was born in 1844 at Tennessee. She was the daughter of William Stanley and Ida Frances Madrin.

     Ralph Cook was born a 1902. He married Clara Emma Counts, daughter of Jasper Odous Counts and Dovie Belle Stanley, a 1927.

     Irene (Unknown) married Lynn Stanley Counts, son of Jasper Odous Counts and Dovie Belle Stanley, a 1940.

     Lysander Adams was born in 1799 at Tennessee. He married Lydia (Unknown) a 1826.

     Lydia (Unknown) was born c 1806. She married Lysander Adams a 1826.

     Lee Wilson was born c 1894. He married Ocie Mae Adams, daughter of SGT Theodore Hugh Adams and Emily "Emma" Artimery Ashley, a 1913.

     Uriah J. Ashley was born on 20 Mar 1817 at Pulaski Co, Kentucky. He was the son of PVT John "Jack" Oliver Ashley II and Elizabeth Montgomery. Uriah J. Ashley married Dianna Newell in 1836 at Somerset, Pulaski Co, Kentucky. Uriah J. Ashley married Mary "Polly" Ann Robinson on 23 Aug 1855 at Casey Co, Kentucky. Uriah J. Ashley died in 1882 at McKinney, Collin Co, Texas.

      In 1840 Uriah Ashley was living in Liberty, Casey Co, KY with his wife Dianna and three sons under age 5. Uriah was noted as engaged in farming and manufacturing. Living nearby is his father John Ashley age 40-49 with a total of eight in the household and Obediah Ashley, age up to 20, with three people in the household. That same year Uriah received a land grant of 25 acres on 25 Feb 1840 on Fishing Creek in Pulaski Co, KY. Of note, Uriah's younger sister Elizabeth was born at Fishing Creek in 1828, so Uriah was buying land in the area where his father lived.

In 1850 Uriah was farming his land valued at 150 in Pulaski Co, KY. Close relationships were already developing with neighboring families. It is presumed this is our ancestor and not the Uriah Ashley who was living in 1850 in Mercer Co, KY.

In 1855 when Uriah married Polly, Joshua Godby was noted on the marriage record. The Godbys were neighbors of both Uriah and his father in the 1840s; perhaps Joshua was his sponsor.

In 1860 Uriah Ashley age 44 and his family were living in the Poplar Hill area of Casey Co, KY where he farmed his land valued at 100. Nearby Robert Ashley, perhaps a brother, who was a farmer and smith age 38, was living with his family on land valued at 600.

By 1870 as Knoxville expanded with railroad access the demographics changed, and there was no longer a clear neighborhood of close relatives. The family was living in the Gumm Sulphur postal district of Rockcastle Co, KY. Uriah's land was valued at 600 and his personal property at 500. His sons Parker age 12 and Thomas age 10 could not read. Uriah's sons William age 22 and Hardin age 18 were working in the steam mills, thus they were participating in the industrial revolution. In 1850 the Knoxville Manufacturing Company which made steam engines had opened, so William and Hardin may have worked there.

Uriah moved to Texas about 1880. At least fourteen of his children from both marriages went with him or followed later. The first of his sons, Thomas, married in Texas on 18 Dec 1880 at age 21, so the family likely moved to early that year.

In total Uriah had twenty-three children by his two wives. Uriah’s first child was born in 1836 and the last in 1879 – during a 43 year span.

--A Uriah Ashley was in the 1830 census in Lincoln Co, KY as born between 1810 and 1819 and living with a household of nine total individuals.
--A Uriah Ashley, born circa 1804, was in the 1850 Mercer Co, KY census with his wife Sarah and eight other family members.
--A Uriah J. Ashley who served as a sergeant with Union forces in both companies M and A, 6th Regiment, Indiana Cavalry; this regiment was attached to 1st Division, XXIII Corps, Lexington, Kentucky, Department of the Ohio. This Uriah sought a disability pension 15 Oct 1877 and his widow Sarah, perhaps Sarah Spoonamore, sought a pension 6 Feb 1922.

     Mary "Polly" Ann Robinson was born on 19 Jan 1836 at Casey Co, Kentucky. She married Uriah J. Ashley, son of PVT John "Jack" Oliver Ashley II and Elizabeth Montgomery, on 23 Aug 1855 at Casey Co, Kentucky. Mary "Polly" Ann Robinson died in 1919 at McKinney, Collin Co, Texas.

      Family tradition was Polly Ann Robinson's family lived in Kentucky and had many slaves. Polly may have been the daughter of a widow, Rebecca Robinson age 40-50, who was living near Uriah Ashley in 1840. Rebecca Robinson had a total of five at home including a daughter the correct age to be Polly.

     Peggy Ashley was born on 26 Mar 1843 at Pulaski Co, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Uriah J. Ashley and Dianna Newell. Peggy Ashley died b 1850.

     Martha E. Ashley was born on 5 Feb 1844 at Kentucky. She was the daughter of Uriah J. Ashley and Dianna Newell. Martha E. Ashley married Stephen White Thomas on 24 Jun 1862 at Johnson Co, Missouri. Martha E. Ashley died on 29 Dec 1907 at Warrensburg, Johnson Co, Missouri, at age 63.

     William Green Ashley was born on 9 Apr 1847 at Pulaski Co, Kentucky. He was the son of Uriah J. Ashley and Dianna Newell. William Green Ashley married Julia F. Talbott in 1874. William Green Ashley married Margaret Ann Davidson on 8 Nov 1888 at Collin Co, Texas. William Green Ashley died on 13 Dec 1928 at Melissa, Collin Co, Texas, at age 81.

     Hardin Newell Ashley was born on 23 Jan 1851 at Pulaski Co, Kentucky. He was the son of Uriah J. Ashley and Dianna Newell. Hardin Newell Ashley married Ardilitha "Lythia" Wilmot on 18 Jul 1871. Hardin Newell Ashley died on 8 Dec 1921 at Melissa, Collin Co, Texas, at age 70.

     John S. Ashley was born on 7 Apr 1853 at Pulaski Co, Kentucky. He was the son of Uriah J. Ashley and Dianna Newell. John S. Ashley died b 1870.
