     Jane ?? Pearson was born a 1785. She was the daughter of John 'Jno' Pearson (younger son John) and Sarah (Unknown). Jane ?? Pearson married John Rawlings on 6 Nov 1804 at Alexandria, Virginia.

      Jane Pearson is presumed to be one of the first two daughters of John and Sarah, although there were other Pearson families in Fairfax Co, VA.
John Rawlings and John Pearson served as bondsmen for the Rawlings - Pearson marriage.

     John Rawlings was born a 1780. He married Jane ?? Pearson, daughter of John 'Jno' Pearson (younger son John) and Sarah (Unknown), on 6 Nov 1804 at Alexandria, Virginia.

     Amelia "Milly" Pearson was born a 1783 at Virginia. She was the daughter of John 'Jno' Pearson (younger son John) and Sarah (Unknown). Amelia "Milly" Pearson married John Murray on 7 Apr 1806 at Alexandria, Virginia. Amelia "Milly" Pearson married Aaron Jones c 1818.

      John and Sarah Pearson were known to have had at least three daughters and Milly Pearson is hypothesized to be one of their daughters. The bondsmen for Milly's marriage were John Pearson and John Murray.

In the 1830 Fairfax Co, VA census, Aaron Jones and his wife presumed to be Amelia Pearson Murray -- both age 30 to 39 -- were enumerated with 2 males age between 10 and 29, a female age 5 to 9, and a 60 to 69 year old female. The Jones family resided next to the household of James Murry. This Amelia may be the same person as Milly Pearson who married John Murray, and the elder woman may be her widowed mother.

On 2 Nov 1812 Aaron Jones of Alexandria leased a parcel of land near the corner of King and Payne Streets in Alexandria, VA for a term of just over 16 years for $30.41 per year, from Alexander McKenzie, guardian of the orphaned children of Dennis Johnston. On 6 Dec 1816 Aaron Jones of Alexandria sold this lease to John Cohagan of Alexandria for $1,050. In the 1820 Alexandria, VA census John Cohagen, who had purchased the land lease from Aaron Jones, was enumerated next door to Thos. Murray.

Thus Aaron Jones resided in Alexandria from 1812 to 1816, most likely next door to the Murray family. Milly Pearson had married John Murray in Alexandria in 1806, and it is possible Milly and John were residing in the Murray home adjacent to Aaron Jones or visited family there, providing an opportunity for Milly to meet Aaron Jones.

If Milly's first husband John Murray had died, she could have met Aaron Jones at the Alexandria location, and Aaron could have sold his lease in Dec 1816, perhaps shortly before they were married and moved to Fairfax County to be closer to her family. Of note in the 1830 Jones household there was a woman of the correct age to be Amelia's mother.

Amelia and Aaron had children named John M. Jones born circa 1819 and Mary Reece Jones born 5 May 1821. By 1850 Amelia and Aaron relocated to Muskingum Co, OH.

     John Murray was born a 1780. He married Amelia "Milly" Pearson, daughter of John 'Jno' Pearson (younger son John) and Sarah (Unknown), on 7 Apr 1806 at Alexandria, Virginia.

     Ellen O'Brien was born a 1858. She was the daughter of Unknown O'Brien.

      On her marriage license application, Helen Cecilia Bowen Barry listed Ellen O'Brien as her mother and her father as John Barry. John Barry was noted in family stories as her adoptive father, so perhaps Helen did not know her biological father's name. O'Brien could be her mother's maiden or married surname, but was considered to be her maiden name because that record type usually requested the mother's maiden name; again Helen may not have known her mother's maiden name but likely did because Helen was raised by her maternal aunt.

Helen, reported to be adopted by her mother's sister, was thought to be the Helen living in 1900 in the John and Hannah Barry household in New York, along with a Margaret McCarthy noted as John's sister-in-law. Thus Ellen, Hannah and Margaret were presumed to be sisters and their maiden name was presumed to be O'Brien.

Hannah, Margaret and Ellen -- and Johanna, Helen, Mary Ellen or initials thereof -- were such very popular Irish names in New York at that time that many O'Brien households had daughters with those three names during 1870 - 1880. Based on the ages of Hannah and Margaret in the 1900 census, a number of families were eliminated as being Ellen's birth family because the daughters' ages differed by two or more years in the 1870 - 1880 censuses; however if Hannah and Margaret misstated their ages on the 1900 census, many other families would be included in the pool of potential birth families

With so many families with daughters with these names who were born about the correct time to be the siblings, it is impossible to say if any are the correct family without knowing the siblings' parents names. Further there remains the possibility that O'Brien was Ellen's married name, and in that regard an Ellen O'Brien age 23 and born about 1857 in New York, NY was
on the 1880 New York, NY census living with her husband James F. O'Brien age 27 born in Connecticut and their children all born in Connecticut: Edward age 4, Lena age 3 and Cecelia age 2. Helen's name was Helen Cecelia but she was reported to have been born in New York.

     Unknown O'Brien was born a 1830.

     Hannah O'Brien was born c 1856 at New York. She was the daughter of Unknown O'Brien. Hannah O'Brien married John Barry a 1882.

     John Barry was born c 1852 at Ireland. He married Hannah O'Brien, daughter of Unknown O'Brien, a 1882.

     Margaret O'Brien was born c 1860 at New York. She was the daughter of Unknown O'Brien. Margaret O'Brien married Unknown McCarthy a 1880.

      Margaret McCarthy was presumed to be another sister of Hannah, the wife of John Barry, because Margaret was noted as a sister-in-law living in the Barry household in 1900. Both Hannah and Margaret were presumed to be sisters of Ellen O'Brien who was noted as the birth mother of Helen Cecelia Bowen Barry August on her marriage certificate; Helen was noted as being adopted by her aunt and she is shown as Helen Barry age 21 in the same household with Hannah and Margaret in 1900. The Margaret O'Brien - McCarthy records found indicate marriages of a more recent time and primarily in Ireland.

     William Eugene "Gene" Winslett was born on 10 Dec 1926 at Jefferson Co, Alabama. He was the son of Oscar Eugene Winslett and Mittie Cynthia Butler. William Eugene "Gene" Winslett married Mary Jane McCaffery a 1953. William Eugene "Gene" Winslett died on 12 Jul 2004 at Chattanooga, Hamilton Co, Tennessee, at age 77.

     Unknown McCarthy was born a 1855. He married Margaret O'Brien, daughter of Unknown O'Brien, a 1880.

     Mittie Cynthia Butler was born on 25 Feb 1900 at Alabama. She married Oscar Eugene Winslett, son of William Jefferson 'Jeff' Winslett and Ella Frances 'Fannie' Hutchinson, on 16 Apr 1923 at Bessemer, Alabama. Mittie Cynthia Butler died on 15 Apr 1980 at Bessemer, Jefferson Co, Alabama, at age 80.

     Mary Jane McCaffery was born on 21 Sep 1934. She married William Eugene "Gene" Winslett, son of Oscar Eugene Winslett and Mittie Cynthia Butler, a 1953. Mary Jane McCaffery died on 15 Mar 1955 at age 20.

     Mary Frances Winslett was born c 1924. She was the daughter of Oscar Eugene Winslett and Mittie Cynthia Butler. Mary Frances Winslett died on 18 May 2009 at Alabama.

     Hazel Winslett is the daughter of Oscar Eugene Winslett and Mittie Cynthia Butler. Hazel Winslett married Unknown Gilbert a 1945.

     Charles Oscar Winslett is the son of Oscar Eugene Winslett and Mittie Cynthia Butler.

     Howard Winslett is the son of Oscar Eugene Winslett and Mittie Cynthia Butler.

     Donald Winslett is the son of Oscar Eugene Winslett and Mittie Cynthia Butler.

     David Winslett is the son of Oscar Eugene Winslett and Mittie Cynthia Butler.

     Wayne Winslett is the son of Oscar Eugene Winslett and Mittie Cynthia Butler.

     Unknown Gilbert married Hazel Winslett, daughter of Oscar Eugene Winslett and Mittie Cynthia Butler, a 1945.

     William Joseph "Joe" Winslett was born on 6 Oct 1954. He was the son of William Eugene "Gene" Winslett and Mary Jane McCaffery. William Joseph "Joe" Winslett married Belinda Griffith a 1980. William Joseph "Joe" Winslett died on 19 Jul 2014 at age 59.
