     Thomas Washington Duke was born on 8 Apr 1845 at Pine Woods, Catahoula Parish, Louisiana. He was the son of PVT Simeon Taylor Duke and Elizabeth Parting. Thomas Washington Duke married Melissa Catherine Ann Meyers on 17 Dec 1867 at Caldwell Parish, Louisiana. Thomas Washington Duke died on 16 Mar 1881 at Columbia, Caldwell Parish, Louisiana, at age 35.

     Lucy Ann Duke was born on 2 Jan 1847 at Pine Woods, Catahoula Parish, Louisiana. She was the daughter of PVT Simeon Taylor Duke and Elizabeth Parting. Lucy Ann Duke married John Wesley Noble on 23 Jan 1868 at Caldwell Parish, Louisiana. Lucy Ann Duke married William Ruffin White on 12 Dec 1872. Lucy Ann Duke died on 26 Apr 1928 at Grayson, Catahoula Parish, Louisiana, at age 81.

     William Rufus Yelverton was born on 12 Apr 1826 at Fair Bluff, Columbus Co, North Carolina. He married Elizabeth "Eliza" A. Duke, daughter of PVT William Simeon Duke and Mary R. Peacock, c 1846. William Rufus Yelverton died on 5 May 1865 at Camp Douglas, Chicago, Cook Co, Illinois, at age 39.

     Joseph Berry Thompson was born on 10 Mar 1843 at Mississippi. He married Victoria Duke, daughter of PVT William Simeon Duke and Mary R. Peacock, in 1866 at Mississippi. Joseph Berry Thompson married Laurinda "Lou" Sue Yelverton, daughter of William Rufus Yelverton and Elizabeth "Eliza" A. Duke, c 1873. Joseph Berry Thompson died on 10 Dec 1930 at Fort Worth, Tarrant Co, Texas, at age 87.

     Laurinda "Lou" Sue Yelverton was born on 18 Oct 1848 at Mississippi. She was the daughter of William Rufus Yelverton and Elizabeth "Eliza" A. Duke. Laurinda "Lou" Sue Yelverton married Joseph Berry Thompson c 1873. Laurinda "Lou" Sue Yelverton died on 2 Nov 1921 at Fort Worth, Tarrant Co, Texas, at age 73.

     Jeptha Duke was born c 1784 at Richland Co, South Carolina. He was the son of LT Robert Duke of Richland SC & Marion MS. Jeptha Duke died a 4 Sep 1824 at Marion Co, Mississippi.

      Jeptha Duke was presumed to be a brother of Simeon Duke. Jeptha served in the Mississippi militia during the War of 1812. Jeptha and Simeon purchased a lot together in 1819 in Marion Co, MS where they both lived.

Jeptha served as the bondsman for the marriage of Lewis Seal, son of Joshua Lewis who gave consent, and Susan Phillips on 31 Jan 1818 in Marion Co, MS. He was enumerated as Jeptha Dicke on the 7 Aug 1820 Marion Co federal census with two males age 16 to 25 in his household; this was likely Jeptha living with one of his brothers. On the 1820 state census that same year Jeptha was shown living with 3 males and 1 female with 2 tithables total.

Jeptha Duke, James Simmons senior and Ralph Simmons were witnesses when Ralph Simmons of Mississippi in consideration of the sum of $1800 sold Joseph Simmons and James Simmons junior a tract of land on the west bank of the Pearl River totaling 292 acres on 18 Jan 1821.

On 6 Nov 1823 an indenture was made between Jeptha Duke and James Thigpen for $500 paid to Duke by Thigpen for a tract of land totaling 160 acres located in Section 15, Township 3; the indenture was filed 10 Jan 1824 by Gilbert Stovall. An Indenture was made 18 Jul 1823 between William White and his wife Sarah of Lawrence County, and Henry Hineger and Jeptha Duke. Hineger and Duke paid $1500 for a quarter lot of land west of the Pearl River totaling 160 acres granted to William White as the assignee of Helen Jenkins on 2 Jul 1822. Witnesses were William F. Noble, James Thigpen and Wm. Nale. Before Wm. Nale, Justice of County Court, William White verified he signed the foregoing deed.      Daniel Duke was born c 1800 at Fairfield Co, South Carolina. He was the son of LT Robert Duke of Richland SC & Marion MS. Daniel Duke died a 1845.

      Daniel Duke is presumed to be a son of Robert Duke of Richland Co, SC and Marion Co, MS and a brother of Simeon Duke. This presumption fits with Robert Duke's census data for 1810 wherein there was one son under age 10. One family tree reports Daniel was born in 1805 in Fairfield Co, SC and another in 1802 in Jasper Co, GA.

Daniel Duke served as the bondsman for the marriage of John Pittman and Nancy Reagan on 13 Jan 1820 in Marion Co, MS; consent was given for by John Regan [sic] for Nancy. Thus by that date Daniel may have reached the age of majority and was therefore born in 1799 or earlier. In 1830 Daniel Duke, age 20 - 29 and thus born 1801-1810, was enumerated in Marion Co, MS with a female presumed to be his wife age 20 - 29. Also in the household were 1 male and 2 female slaves age 10 - 23 and 1 male and 2 female slaves under age 10.

On 29 Jan 1830 Simeon Duke and Mary Duke his wife deeded Daniel Duke for $400 the northeast quarter, section 12, T 2, R 13 E in Marion Co, MS. The witnesses were William L. Daniel, age 30-39, was listed in the 1840 Marion Co, MS census with 1 female age 10 - 14, 1 male age 20 -29, and 1 female age 40-49. In addition 9 slaves were in the household, including 1 female age 24-35, 3 females and 3 males age 10 - 24, and 1 male and 1 female under age 10. Daniel was on the Marion Co state census in 1841 and 1845.

     Isabelle Carolina Cargile was born c 1841 at Mississippi. She married William W. Duke, son of PVT William Simeon Duke and Mary R. Peacock, c 1857 at Mississippi. Isabelle Carolina Cargile married John Alfred Brown b 1870. Isabelle Carolina Cargile died in 1908.

     Mary Margaret Duke was born c 1858 at Mississippi. She was the daughter of William W. Duke and Isabelle Carolina Cargile.

     Mary "Marie" Jane Bridges was born on 19 Apr 1848 at Jasper Co, Mississippi. She married Dr. Benjamin Franklin Duke, son of PVT William Simeon Duke and Mary R. Peacock, on 29 Nov 1866 at Mississippi. Mary "Marie" Jane Bridges died on 10 Mar 1869 at Mississippi at age 20.

      Mary J. Duke's data came from cemetery records showing she was the wife of B. F. Duke and the daughter of F. and S. A.

     Rebecca Thigpen was born in Sep 1851 at Alabama. She married Dr. Benjamin Franklin Duke, son of PVT William Simeon Duke and Mary R. Peacock, in 1874.

     John Wesley Hightower was born on 2 Jun 1948. He was the son of Thomas Jasper Hightower and Laura Ann Battreall. John Wesley Hightower died on 4 Jan 2018 at age 69.
