     James Upshur was born on 10 Nov 1766 at 'Cedar Grove', Northampton Co, Virginia. He married Charlotte Pinckard on 24 May 1796. James Upshur married Susanna Christian Martin, daughter of George Martin and Rosanna "Rose" Luker, on 20 Jun 1810 at Accomack Co, Virginia. James Upshur died on 10 Dec 1828 at age 62.

      James Upshur left his namesake son his family bible, which may be the bible transcribed as Martin Bible (Upshur, Snow Hill.)

     Nancy Martin was born in 1788 at Worcester Co, Maryland. She was the daughter of George Martin and Rosanna "Rose" Luker.

     Daniel Harcourt Gunn was born on 12 Sep 1878 at New York. He was the son of Rev. David Griffin Gunn and M. Catharine "Kate" Auguste. Daniel Harcourt Gunn was christened on 28 Feb 1879 at Saint Ambrose Episcopal Church, New York, New York.

     Wilmer Upshur was born on 22 Oct 1821. He was the son of James Upshur and Susanna Christian Martin. Wilmer Upshur died on 7 Nov 1821.

     William Wilson Johnston was born in 1800. He married Rosina Martin Upshur, daughter of James Upshur and Susanna Christian Martin, on 8 Jul 1835. William Wilson Johnston died in 1865. He was buried at Princess Anne, Maryland.

      William W. Johnson was a merchant.

     John Martin was born a 1764 at Worcester Co, Maryland. He was the son of George Martin I and Mary Pope.

     James G. Martin was born a 1790. He was the son of John Martin. James G. Martin was buried at Davison, Rhea Co, Texas.

     George W. Martin was born a 1792. He was the son of John Martin. George W. Martin was buried at Nashville, Tennessee.

     Lisa Yang Cha Yim is the daughter of Ki Tae Yim and Su Sun Kim. Lisa Yang Cha Yim married Capt John 'Johnnie' Dixon Winslett, son of Henry Dillard Winslett and Amanda 'Mandy' Ola Weathers, on 31 Oct 1973 at Seoul, South Korea.

     Philip 'Phil' Dae Won Winslett is the son of Capt John 'Johnnie' Dixon Winslett and Lisa Yang Cha Yim. Philip 'Phil' Dae Won Winslett married Ji In Shin, daughter of Chang-gun Shin and Deok-rae Lee, on 31 Dec 2012 at Champaign, Illinois.

     William Norris II was born a 1781. He married Sarah 'Sallie' Hayward Martin, daughter of COL Thomas Martin and Charlotte Hayward, in 1806.

     Edward Walker was born a 1700 at Wales. He immigrated c 1720 to Virginia. He married Mary Daniel, daughter of William Daniel II, a 1725. Edward Walker died in 1776 at Culpeper Co, Virginia. He was buried at Orange Co, Virginia.

      The Walkers are included in these genealogy records because some Walker family data was copied by my great, great-aunt Susan Martin Perry (1876-1958); the handwriting appears to best match hers. There is considerable more detail on Edward Walker and his descendants in the family files should their direct relationship be proven in the future.

One theory in the Walker family bible is that Edward Walker came to Virginia by way of Wales; another theory is that he came directly from Bentham in Berkshire. Although there are Edward Walkers prominent in English history as yet no connection has been made between the immigrant and the English Walkers. That the immigrant Edward came from a substantial family background is evident by the fact he soon became a landowner and he married into the well-established Daniel family. The Daniels owned many acres in Caroline Co, VA; further information is available on the Daniels in the this researcher's hardcopy genealogy files.

Edward first came to King and Queen Co, VA (formed in 1691). The name Walker was already prominent there because of a Thomas Walker who had immigrated to Gloucester Co, VA before 1650 and who had Walker and Wood descendants in King and Queen Co. Edward owned three land tracts in King and Queen Co and lived on the Mattaponi River where he was a tobacco planter. Edward later moved west into Orange Co, VA along the Rapidan River.

     Mary Daniel was born a 1705. She was the daughter of William Daniel II. Mary Daniel married Edward Walker a 1725. Mary Daniel was buried at Caroline Co, Virginia.

     COL William Daniel I was born a 1652. He married Jockebed (Unknown) a 1678. His estate was probated on 3 Oct 1698 at Middlesex Co, Virginia.

     William Daniel II was born a 1679. He was the son of COL William Daniel I and Jockebed (Unknown).

     COL James Walker I was born on 5 Apr 1726 at King and Queen Co, Virginia. He was the son of Edward Walker and Mary Daniel. COL James Walker I married Sarah Jane Ware on 20 Feb 1763. COL James Walker I died on 18 Dec 1801 at age 75. He was buried at Orange Co, Virginia.

      Col James Walker I was killed at the Battle of Trenton in the Revolutionary War. James provides ancestral linkage to the Walkers of "Woodbury Forrest," Madison Co, VA.

     Sarah Jane Ware was born 31 Jan 1739/0. She married COL James Walker I, son of Edward Walker and Mary Daniel, on 20 Feb 1763. Sarah Jane Ware died on 14 Oct 1819. She was buried at King and Queen Co, Virginia.

      The Ware family were gentry in King and Queen Co, VA.

     William Walker was born on 19 Dec 1735. He was the son of Edward Walker and Mary Daniel. William Walker married Ann Merry in 1758. William Walker died on 7 Dec 1807 at age 71.

     Ann Merry was born in 1740. She married William Walker, son of Edward Walker and Mary Daniel, in 1758. Ann Merry died in 1818.

     John Walker was born a 1730. He was the son of Edward Walker and Mary Daniel. John Walker married Mary Merry in 1762.

      John Walker was a lawyer.

     Mary Merry was born a 1742. She married John Walker, son of Edward Walker and Mary Daniel, in 1762.

     Edward Walker II was born a 1732. He was the son of Edward Walker and Mary Daniel.

     Mary Walker was born in 1734. She was the daughter of Edward Walker and Mary Daniel. Mary Walker married George Twyman a 1754.

     George Twyman was born in 1731. He married Mary Walker, daughter of Edward Walker and Mary Daniel, a 1754. George Twyman died in 1822.

     Ann Walker was born a 1728. She was the daughter of Edward Walker and Mary Daniel. Ann Walker married John Anderson a 1748.

     John Anderson was born a 1723. He married Ann Walker, daughter of Edward Walker and Mary Daniel, a 1748.

     George Scott was born on 30 Nov 1755. He married Betsy Walker, daughter of COL James Walker I and Sarah Jane Ware, on 18 Mar 1789. George Scott died on 13 May 1826 at age 70.

     Lucy Walker was born on 7 Dec 1771. She was the daughter of COL James Walker I and Sarah Jane Ware. Lucy Walker married Reuben Lumpkin a 1791. Lucy Walker died on 7 Oct 1806 at age 34.

     Reuben Lumpkin was born a 1766. He married Lucy Walker, daughter of COL James Walker I and Sarah Jane Ware, a 1791.

     Jane Walker was born on 28 Sep 1775. She was the daughter of COL James Walker I and Sarah Jane Ware. Jane Walker married John Goss on 30 Aug 1808. Jane Walker died in 1862.
