     Lucinda Permelia Ashley was born on 6 Feb 1849 at Rockcastle Co, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Uriah J. Ashley and Dianna Newell. Lucinda Permelia Ashley married Samuel Sparks on 21 Aug 1870. Lucinda Permelia Ashley died on 25 Dec 1940 at Adair Co, Kentucky, at age 91.

     Parker G. Ashley was born on 15 Jan 1858 at Casey Co, Kentucky. He was the son of Uriah J. Ashley and Mary "Polly" Ann Robinson. Parker G. Ashley married Elizabeth "Lizzie" Ridges in 1880. Parker G. Ashley married Nannie Crouch on 26 Jan 1881 at Denison, Grayson Co, Texas. Parker G. Ashley died on 14 Oct 1930 at Elk City, Beckham Co, Oklahoma, at age 72.

     Thomas M. Ashley was born on 28 May 1859 at Casey Co, Kentucky. He was the son of Uriah J. Ashley and Mary "Polly" Ann Robinson. Thomas M. Ashley married Laura Williams on 18 Dec 1880 at Collin Co, Texas. Thomas M. Ashley died at Oklahoma City, Canadian Co, Oklahoma.

     Francis "Frank" E. Ashley was born on 18 Feb 1861 at Casey Co, Kentucky. He was the son of Uriah J. Ashley and Mary "Polly" Ann Robinson. Francis "Frank" E. Ashley married Emma McClain in 1882. Francis "Frank" E. Ashley married Minnie Myrtle Dunn on 4 Dec 1883 at Collin Co, Texas. Francis "Frank" E. Ashley died on 25 Sep 1926 at Denison, Grayson Co, Texas, at age 65.

     Arabelle "Belle" Ashley was born on 27 Sep 1862 at Kentucky. She was the daughter of Uriah J. Ashley and Mary "Polly" Ann Robinson. Arabelle "Belle" Ashley married James Grafton Williams on 12 Sep 1881 at Collin Co, Texas. Arabelle "Belle" Ashley died on 23 Oct 1918 at Mount Olive, Collin Co, Texas, at age 56.

     Mary Elizabeth Ashley was born on 28 Aug 1864 at Rockcastle Co, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Uriah J. Ashley and Mary "Polly" Ann Robinson. Mary Elizabeth Ashley married Alonzo Daniel Buchanan on 5 Dec 1885 at Collin Co, Texas. Mary Elizabeth Ashley died in 1898 at Grayson Co, Texas.

     Sarah "Sally" N. Ashley was born on 30 Apr 1866 at Kentucky. She was the daughter of Uriah J. Ashley and Mary "Polly" Ann Robinson. Sarah "Sally" N. Ashley died in 1879 at Collin Co, Texas.

     Oliver Ashley was born on 19 Jan 1868 at Kentucky. He was the son of Uriah J. Ashley and Mary "Polly" Ann Robinson. Oliver Ashley married Ada Elvira Smart on 6 Jul 1890 at Grayson Co, Texas. Oliver Ashley died on 5 Apr 1956 at Grayson Co, Texas, at age 88.

     Lucreta "Lu" "Crecy" M. Ashley was born on 5 Mar 1870 at Kentucky. She was the daughter of Uriah J. Ashley and Mary "Polly" Ann Robinson. Lucreta "Lu" "Crecy" M. Ashley married James Smith in 1893. Lucreta "Lu" "Crecy" M. Ashley married Edgar Jones in 1894. Lucreta "Lu" "Crecy" M. Ashley died at Mount Olive, Collin Co, Texas.

     Dianna Newell was born on 19 Sep 1812 at Pulaski Co, Kentucky. She married Uriah J. Ashley, son of PVT John "Jack" Oliver Ashley II and Elizabeth Montgomery, in 1836 at Somerset, Pulaski Co, Kentucky. Dianna Newell died on 17 Oct 1853 at Pulaski Co, Kentucky, at age 41.

      According to a family tradition, Dianna Newell and her son Lewis died of fever in Pulaski County.

     Ardilitha "Lythia" Wilmot was born in 1855. She married Hardin Newell Ashley, son of Uriah J. Ashley and Dianna Newell, on 18 Jul 1871. Ardilitha "Lythia" Wilmot died in 1935.

     Samuel Sparks was born in 1836. He married Lucinda Permelia Ashley, daughter of Uriah J. Ashley and Dianna Newell, on 21 Aug 1870. Samuel Sparks died in 1889.

     Julia F. Talbott was born in 1854. She married William Green Ashley, son of Uriah J. Ashley and Dianna Newell, in 1874.

     Margaret Ann Davidson was born in 1864. She married William Green Ashley, son of Uriah J. Ashley and Dianna Newell, on 8 Nov 1888 at Collin Co, Texas. Margaret Ann Davidson died in 1953.

     Stephen White Thomas was born in 1834. He married Martha E. Ashley, daughter of Uriah J. Ashley and Dianna Newell, on 24 Jun 1862 at Johnson Co, Missouri. Stephen White Thomas died in 1905.

     Lewis C. Ashley was born on 5 Apr 1840 at Pulaski Co, Kentucky. He was the son of Uriah J. Ashley and Dianna Newell. Lewis C. Ashley died on 24 Oct 1853 at Pulaski Co, Kentucky, at age 13.

     Silas Lee Ashley was born on 22 Jul 1838 at Pulaski Co, Kentucky. He was the son of Uriah J. Ashley and Dianna Newell. Silas Lee Ashley married Sarah "Sally" L. Parrot on 16 Jul 1868 at Lincoln Co, Kentucky. Silas Lee Ashley died on 25 Mar 1911 at Garrard Co, Kentucky, at age 72.

     Sarah "Sally" L. Parrot was born in 1844. She married Silas Lee Ashley, son of Uriah J. Ashley and Dianna Newell, on 16 Jul 1868 at Lincoln Co, Kentucky.

     Gilbert "Gilby" K. Ashley was born on 1 Nov 1836 at Somerset, Pulaski Co, Kentucky. He was the son of Uriah J. Ashley and Dianna Newell. Gilbert "Gilby" K. Ashley married Martha Ann Denny in 1861 at Henry Co, Missouri. Gilbert "Gilby" K. Ashley married Nancy Gage Renfro on 31 May 1864 at Henry Co, Missouri. Gilbert "Gilby" K. Ashley died in 1869 at Grayson Co, Texas.

     Martha Ann Denny was born in 1842. She married Gilbert "Gilby" K. Ashley, son of Uriah J. Ashley and Dianna Newell, in 1861 at Henry Co, Missouri. Martha Ann Denny died in 1866.

     Nancy Gage Renfro was born in 1848. She married Gilbert "Gilby" K. Ashley, son of Uriah J. Ashley and Dianna Newell, on 31 May 1864 at Henry Co, Missouri. Nancy Gage Renfro died in 1921.

     PVT John "Jack" Oliver Ashley II was born on 2 Feb 1794 at Mecklenburg Co, North Carolina. He was the son of SGT John Oliver Ashley I and Mary "Polly" Calloway ? PVT John "Jack" Oliver Ashley II married Elizabeth Montgomery on 22 Jun 1813 at Lincoln Co, Kentucky. PVT John "Jack" Oliver Ashley II died on 17 Mar 1858 at Briery Creek, Pulaski Co, Kentucky, at age 64.

      John Oliver Ashley was living in Mercer Co, KY in 1800 where he appeared on the tax list. He fought in the War of 1812, enlisting in the military on 1 Sep 1812, serving in Kentucky and was discharged 30 Mar 1813.

Given the repetitive use of the name John Oliver Ashley within the direct ancestral line, assumptions were made based on geographical proximity. Our ancestor John Oliver Ashley (1794-1858) married in Mercer Co, KY. From 1820 until 1858 a John Ashley appeared in Kentucky in the counties of Adair (1820), Casey (1830 and 1840), Adair (1850) and Pulaski (1858 death.) It is presumed all of these records are for John Oliver Ashley (1794-1858) instead of any of them being his father of the same name. Adair and Casey counties are contiguous and Pulaski also borders Casey and Mercer is just north of Casey.

In 1830 John and his wife, both between the age of 30 and 39, were living in Casey Co, KY with two sons age 5 to 9; two sons age 10 to 14; and three daughters under age 5.

By 1840 John age 40-49 with a total of eight in the household is living near his father Uriah Ashley and brother Obediah Ashley in Pulaski Co, KY. Missing from the household if this is the correct John Ashley family are Minerva age 3 and Thomas age 1 who could have potentially been temporarily living with other relatives because their mother was pregnant again; all other children who needed to be living in this household and had not already married were enumerated.

In 1850 John was living in Adair Co, KY with his wife and three daughters and three sons; Minerva and Thomas were in the household.

John received two pensions and two bounty land patents. His widow Elizabeth applied for a widow's pension. John's military record includes: John Ashley, Elizabeth (Montgomery), WC-3876, m 22 June 1813 Lincoln Co, KY; soldier deceased 17 Mar 1857 or 58 Pulaski Co, KY; served in Henry James' Company, KY Mil; widow also lived Scott Co, IL.

Because John died the following year, the John O. Ashley appointed postmaster in Adams Mills, Pulaski Co, KY on 13 Jan 1857 is likely our ancestor.s namesake son.

     Elizabeth Montgomery was born in 1797 at Lincoln Co, Kentucky. She married PVT John "Jack" Oliver Ashley II, son of SGT John Oliver Ashley I and Mary "Polly" Calloway ?, on 22 Jun 1813 at Lincoln Co, Kentucky. Elizabeth Montgomery died in 1875 at Winchester, Scott Co, Illinois.

      Elizabeth Montgomery was possibly born in 1793 in Virginia. By 1860 Elizabeth was a widow living in the Somerset area of Pulaski Co, KY with her son Aden and daughter Sarah; Elizabeth was listed as a farmer with land valued at 800 and personal property at 200. In 1870 Elizabeth in the household of her youngest daughter Sarah Ashley Arnold in Winchester, Scott Co, IL. By 1880 Elizabeth was in Putnam Co, TN living with her daughter Mary and her family.

     Elizabeth "Lizzie" Ridges was born a 1860. She married Parker G. Ashley, son of Uriah J. Ashley and Mary "Polly" Ann Robinson, in 1880.

     Nannie Crouch was born a 1861. She married Parker G. Ashley, son of Uriah J. Ashley and Mary "Polly" Ann Robinson, on 26 Jan 1881 at Denison, Grayson Co, Texas. Nannie Crouch died in 1900.

     Laura Williams was born a 1860. She married Thomas M. Ashley, son of Uriah J. Ashley and Mary "Polly" Ann Robinson, on 18 Dec 1880 at Collin Co, Texas. Laura Williams died in 1893.

     James Grafton Williams was born in 1855. He married Arabelle "Belle" Ashley, daughter of Uriah J. Ashley and Mary "Polly" Ann Robinson, on 12 Sep 1881 at Collin Co, Texas. James Grafton Williams died in 1932.

     Emma McClain was born in 1850. She married Francis "Frank" E. Ashley, son of Uriah J. Ashley and Mary "Polly" Ann Robinson, in 1882. Emma McClain died in 1916.
