     William John Deegan II was born c 1908 at Indiana. He was the son of William John Deegan I and Mathilda "Tillie" M. Penrod. William John Deegan II married Barbara "Bobby" E. Rice, daughter of CPT George T. Rice and Malvina A. Williams, b 1936. William John Deegan II and Barbara "Bobby" E. Rice were divorced in 1938 at Dade Co, Florida. William John Deegan II married Pauline Jones on 16 Dec 1938 at Jacksonville, Duval Co, Florida. William John Deegan II and Pauline Jones were divorced in 1944 at Volusia Co, Florida. William John Deegan II married Winifred Ann Cady on 13 May 1946 at Alexandria, Virginia. William John Deegan II died in 1976 at Miami, Dade Co, Florida.

     CPT George T. Rice was born c 1878 at Albert Lea, Minnesota. He married Malvina A. Williams, daughter of Peter H. Williams and Julia (Unknown), a 1910.

     Malvina A. Williams was born on 14 May 1885 at Key West, Monroe Co, Florida. She was the daughter of Peter H. Williams and Julia (Unknown). Malvina A. Williams married CPT George T. Rice a 1910.

     Malvina Ann Rice was born on 15 Sep 1911 at Key West, Monroe Co, Florida. She was the daughter of CPT George T. Rice and Malvina A. Williams. Malvina Ann Rice married CPT George H. Carmouche a 1931.

     William John Deegan I was born a 1880. He married Mathilda "Tillie" M. Penrod a 1905. William John Deegan I died b 1935.

     Mathilda "Tillie" M. Penrod was born c 1885 at Kentucky. She married William John Deegan I a 1905.

     Helen Deegan was born c 1912 at Wyoming. She was the daughter of William John Deegan I and Mathilda "Tillie" M. Penrod.

     Clayton Barthlum White was born on 16 Oct 1933. He married Sandra "Sandy" Ann Deegan, daughter of William John Deegan II and Barbara "Bobby" E. Rice, on 15 Apr 1963 at Arlington, Virginia. Clayton Barthlum White died on 23 Jun 2011 at Woodbridge, Prince William Co, Virginia, at age 77.

     Peter H. Williams was born c 1862 at Florida. He married Julia (Unknown) c 1884.

     Julia (Unknown) was born c 1866 at Florida. She married Peter H. Williams c 1884.

     Kathleen Williams was born on 14 May 1885 at Key West, Monroe Co, Florida. She was the daughter of Peter H. Williams and Julia (Unknown).

     Aileen Williams was born c 1887 at Key West, Monroe Co, Florida. She was the daughter of Peter H. Williams and Julia (Unknown).

     CPT George H. Carmouche was born a 1906. He married Malvina Ann Rice, daughter of CPT George T. Rice and Malvina A. Williams, a 1931.

     Pauline Jones married Herdman Edward Heller a 1930. Pauline Jones married William John Deegan II, son of William John Deegan I and Mathilda "Tillie" M. Penrod, on 16 Dec 1938 at Jacksonville, Duval Co, Florida. Pauline Jones and William John Deegan II were divorced in 1944 at Volusia Co, Florida.

     Herdman Edward Heller was born on 26 Sep 1903 at Alabama. He married Pauline Jones a 1930. Herdman Edward Heller died in Dec 1985 at Milton, Santa Rosa Co, Florida, at age 82.

     Winifred Ann Cady married William John Deegan II, son of William John Deegan I and Mathilda "Tillie" M. Penrod, on 13 May 1946 at Alexandria, Virginia.

     James Lewis was born a 1684. He was the son of Richard Lewis and Elizabeth Dix / Dicks. James Lewis married Sarah Custis a Oct 1709.

      After marrying Sarah Custis, James married a Mary, a Catherine, and an Elizabeth.

     Sarah Custis was born a 1685. She married James Lewis, son of Richard Lewis and Elizabeth Dix / Dicks, a Oct 1709.

      Sarah Custis was married prior to her marriage to James Lewis, so it is unknown if she was a Custis or had married a Custis.

Of note, there was a Custis family living near James Lewis' grandfather John Lewis a generation earlier. On 28 May 1667 upon the petition of Laurance Robinson, the following men were appointed to appraise the estate of Alphanso Ball: Mr. Wm. Custis, Geo. Truet, Jno. Lewis and Timothy Coe; they were to meet at Robinson's house 11 June, and then be sworn before Capt. Hill. Sarah could have been a descendant of William Custis or married into his family line.

The Custis line is also interrelated with the Slocumb line.
James Lewis complained to John Bradhurst that Robert Slocumb borrowed a new man's saddle from James' wife "in the time of her widdowhood about October last past and that he refused to returne the same." Bradhurst issued a precept to Constable John Barnes junior to arrest Slocumb and bring him before a justice. Signed 17 July 1710, by John Bradhurst. The order was executed by Barnes. On 25 July 1710, Robert Slocum came before Geo. Parker to answer the above complaint; Sarah, the wife of James Lewis, swore that the saddle was her own and that she lent it to Robert Slocum with a saddle cloth. Parker ordered Slocum to return the items. Robert Slocum appealed to the second day of the next court. (both above orders recorded 18 Sep 1710). In a 2 Aug 1710 Accomack Co, VA court order James and Sarah Lewis obtained from Capt. Bradhurst, a justice, a warrant against Robert Slocum, who had borrowed their saddle and saddle cloth. After they swore to the items, Maj. George Parker gave a judgment ordering Slocum to return the saddle and saddle cloth. Slocum appealed from the judgment to the second day of the court, which debated the matter and confirmed Parker's judgment and ordered Slocum to pay court costs.

     Margaret Lewis was born a 1698. She was the daughter of Robert Lewis and Catherine Ayres.

      Margaret Lewis was named in a court order on 5 Mar 1729/30 Accomack Co, VA. Upon the complaint of the churchwardens, the sheriff was ordered to take Margaret Lewis and Lucretia Sherewood into his custody till they gave security to appear at the next court. Margaret was named in a court order on 7 Jul 1730 Accomack Co, VA. Upon the information provided by the church wardens, Margt. Lewis appeared in court. Because she had not paid her fine for bastardy, it was ordered that she be whipped according to law.

Margaret was named in a court order on 5 Mar 1734/35 Accomack Co, VA. Ordered that Margaret Lewis be taken into custody till posting security to appear at the next court to answer the accusations the church wardens; with her she was to bring her last bastard child. She was named in a court order on 1 Jul 1735 Accomack Co, VA. The church wardens had informed the court that Margaret Lewis had given birth to a mulatto bastard child. She now appeared to answer the charges, and the child, which was also brought before the court, was judged to be mulatto. Since Margaret could not pay the £15 fine as stipulated by law, the church wardens were ordered to sell her to the highest bidder. Ordered that a mulatto girl named Kisia, born to Margaret Lewis (a white woman) be bound to William Bagg according to law. Margaret Lewis, in the presence of the court, agreed to serve William Bagg for six years provided he would pay the £15 she owed according to law. Bagg gave his obligation for payment to the church wardens and also agreed to pay Margaret's other debts, for which she was to serve him "in proportion."

     Col. Richard Kennon was born on 15 Apr 1713. He married Anne Hunt, daughter of John Hunt and Susanna "Susan" (Unknown), a 1725. Col. Richard Kennon died in 1761.

     Elizabeth Turner ? was born c 1662 at Charles City, Charles City Co, Virginia. She married John Hunt, son of William Hunt I and Anne (Unknown), a 1679. Elizabeth Turner ? died in Jan 1727 at 'Westover', Charles City Co, Virginia.

      This researcher has not seen proof that John's wife's name is Elizabeth Turner. Given that she named a son Turner and use of the name as a given name predates the use of it in our Southall family line, Elizabeth may indeed have been a Turner.

     Thomas W. J. Winslett was born c 1847 at Alabama. He was the son of John M. C. Winslett and Sarah May.

     Unknown Winslett was born c 1850 at Alabama. She was the daughter of John M. C. Winslett and Sarah May.

     William Buchanan "Buck" Winslett was born c 1855 at Alabama. He was the son of John M. C. Winslett and Sarah May.

     Willis Newton Talton was born on 31 Dec 1862 at Etowah Co, Alabama. He was the son of PVT Joseph Jasper "JJ" Talton and Samantha Elizabeth "Lizzie" Foster. Willis Newton Talton married Nancy Caroline "Kate" Futral, daughter of James Futral and Elizabeth Boyce, on 13 Dec 1883 at Tallapoosa Co, Alabama. Willis Newton Talton died on 30 Nov 1949 at Goodwater, Clay Co, Alabama, at age 86. He was buried at Blue Eye Cemetery, Lincoln, Talladega Co, Alabama.

      In 1900 Willis was living in Wewoka, Talladega Co, AL near his parents and he was living beside his father in the 1910 census. Between the two censuses several of his children's names totally changed, thus this researcher decided the children were the same but were using first or middle names instead.

     Araminta Jane "Janie" Talton was born on 26 Oct 1865 at Tallapoosa Co, Alabama. She was the daughter of PVT Joseph Jasper "JJ" Talton and Samantha Elizabeth "Lizzie" Foster. Araminta Jane "Janie" Talton married Andrew Jefferson Futral, son of James Futral and Elizabeth Boyce, a 1886. Araminta Jane "Janie" Talton died on 3 Nov 1894 at Talladega Co, Alabama, at age 29. She was buried at Winterboro Baptist Cemetery, Talladega Co, Alabama.

      Aramintha Jane Talton was likely named after her first cousin once removed Aramintha Jane Dukes.

     Frances Eugenia "Jeanie" Talton was born on 11 Jul 1870 at Tallapoosa Co, Alabama. She was the daughter of PVT Joseph Jasper "JJ" Talton and Samantha Elizabeth "Lizzie" Foster. Frances Eugenia "Jeanie" Talton married Robert Lee Nix, son of Charles Cash Berry Nix and Nancy Cooley Clayton, on 27 Dec 1888 at Tallapoosa Co, Alabama. Frances Eugenia "Jeanie" Talton died on 8 Jul 1952 at age 81. She was buried at Elko Cemetery, Houston Co, Georgia.

      Other descendants reported Frances was named Frances Marion Talton and the 1880 census evidently supports this conclusion with a Frances. M Talton.

     Emmanual "Mannie" Alfred Talton I was born on 4 Apr 1873 at Fayetteville, Alabama. He was the son of PVT Joseph Jasper "JJ" Talton and Samantha Elizabeth "Lizzie" Foster. Emmanual "Mannie" Alfred Talton I married Jeanie Nix a 1898. Emmanual "Mannie" Alfred Talton I married Leila Shaw on 5 Aug 1902. Emmanual "Mannie" Alfred Talton I died on 3 Jul 1936 at Shelby Co, Alabama, at age 63. He was buried at Williams Cemetery, Shelby Co, Alabama.

      Manuel Talton was shown as Mannie A. Talton living with his wife Leila and their two children in the 1910 Talladega Co, AL census.

     Susan Louella "Ella" Talton was born on 15 Aug 1877 at Tallapoosa Co, Alabama. She was the daughter of PVT Joseph Jasper "JJ" Talton and Samantha Elizabeth "Lizzie" Foster. Susan Louella "Ella" Talton married Lawrence Elishua Heaslett on 31 Aug 1902 at Talladega Co, Alabama. Susan Louella "Ella" Talton married Charles Nelson a 1915. Susan Louella "Ella" Talton married William M. Howard a 1919. Susan Louella "Ella" Talton died on 22 Sep 1955 at Sylacauga, Talladega Co, Alabama, at age 78. She was buried at Evergreen Cemetery, Talladega Co, Alabama.

      Whether Susan Louella Talton also married Charles Nelson is unclear.
