     William H. Smith was born c 1845 at Tallapoosa Co, Alabama. He was the son of John C. Smith and Anna "Anny" (Unknown). William H. Smith died b 1870.

      William H. Smith, age 15 born circa 1845 was on the 1860 census but not the 1850 census, where Henry H. Smith age 7 was included in the John C. Smith household in 1850. These two may be the same person.

Smith family researcher Lenna Skelton believes this son died sometime before the 1870 census and because most states did not start keeping death records until 1880 or later there would not be a death record.

     William T. Clayton was born a 1855. He married Mary A. Elizabeth Bird, daughter of William A. Bird and Priscilla Dollar, c 1855.

     Lucy Pollard was born in 1846. She married Nathaniel Howell Bird, son of James "Jim" Madison Bird and Eletha Rosaline Oliver, a 1866.

     Elizabeth Osborne Dabney was born c 1839. She married William Wood Porter, son of George Camp Porter and Susan Madison Wood, in 1866.

     Leon Thomas Lee was born on 3 Sep 1905 at Alabama. He was the son of George Henry Lee and Nanny Lydia "Ludie" Weathers. Leon Thomas Lee married Maybell Rayfield a 1930.

     Mary Alice Lee was born on 12 Oct 1909 at Alabama. She was the daughter of George Henry Lee and Nanny Lydia "Ludie" Weathers. Mary Alice Lee married John Ambers Gallups in 1925.

     Grace Blossom Lee was born on 1 Aug 1907 at Alabama. She was the daughter of George Henry Lee and Nanny Lydia "Ludie" Weathers. Grace Blossom Lee married Elijah Joseph Horton in 1934. Grace Blossom Lee married E. T. Woodward in 1968. Grace Blossom Lee died in 2004 at Sylacauga, Talladega Co, Alabama.

     Rebecca Hamill Wheat was born in 1838 at Georgia. She was the daughter of Jonathon "John" Wheat and Mary Ann Perdue.

     Sara Adaline Wheat was born in 1840 at Georgia. She was the daughter of Jonathon "John" Wheat and Mary Ann Perdue.

     Mary Antoinette Wheat was born in 1842 at Georgia. She was the daughter of Jonathon "John" Wheat and Mary Ann Perdue.

     Martha F. Wheat was born c 1847 at Georgia. She was the daughter of Jonathon "John" Wheat and Elizabeth "Beth" Merritt.

     Martha "Patsy" Rowland was born c 1795 at Greene Co, Georgia. She was the daughter of Hiram Rowland and Rhoda Atkinson. Martha "Patsy" Rowland married Thomas Merritt, son of John Merritt and Elizabeth (Unknown), on 28 Feb 1815 at Greene Co, Georgia. Martha "Patsy" Rowland died on 8 Nov 1867 at Greensboro, Greene Co, Georgia.

     PVT Henry Clay Merritt was born on 11 Mar 1837 at Greene Co, Georgia. He was the son of Thomas Merritt and Martha "Patsy" Rowland. PVT Henry Clay Merritt married Jerusha Caroline "Carrie" Williamson c 1863. PVT Henry Clay Merritt died on 12 Jun 1914 at Fulton Co, Georgia, at age 77.

      Henry C. Merritt enlisted at age 26 on 1 May 1862 at Greene Co, GA and was assigned to Company K, Georgia 44th Infantry Regiment. According to family legend, Henry lost a leg in the Civil War. He was unable to care for his youngest daughters after his wife Carrie died and sent them to live with their aunt, Winnie Williamson, Carrie's sister. By 1910 at age 73, Henry was living in the Confederate Soldiers Home in Edgewood, Fulton Co, GA.

     Franklin "Frank" Merritt was born c 1833 at Greensboro, Greene Co, Georgia. He was the son of Thomas Merritt and Martha "Patsy" Rowland. Franklin "Frank" Merritt married Cornelia C. O'Neal on 31 Aug 1865 at Greene Co, Georgia. Franklin "Frank" Merritt died b 17 Feb 1897 at Greene Co, Georgia.

      Franklin Merritt died the year after his father. His 3 Jun 1861 will left his property to his mother and upon her death to his younger brother Henry with the stipulaton that none of his negroes could be sold during Henry's lifetime. His will was witnessed by G. P. King, Isaac R. Hall and J. W. Godkin and was proved in 1861.

     Albert Merritt was born c 1835 at Greensboro, Greene Co, Georgia. He was the son of Thomas Merritt and Martha "Patsy" Rowland. Albert Merritt married Mary Beatrice Shirley on 5 Mar 1873 at Greene Co, Georgia.

     Louisa Wheat was born c 1851 at Georgia. She was the daughter of Jonathon "John" Wheat and Elizabeth "Beth" Merritt.

     Missouri Wheat was born c 1856 at Georgia. She was the daughter of Jonathon "John" Wheat and Elizabeth "Beth" Merritt. Missouri Wheat died bt 1866 - 1870.

     Eda "Eddie" G. Wheat was born c 1865 at Alabama. She was the daughter of Jonathon "John" Wheat and Elizabeth "Beth" Merritt. Eda "Eddie" G. Wheat married Romeo R. Robertson a 1885. Eda "Eddie" G. Wheat died in 1939 at Harpersville, Shelby Co, Alabama.

     James Franklin "Frank" Wheat was born on 27 Sep 1892 at Vincent, Alabama. He was the son of Woodruff "Ruff" Albert Wheat and Paralee Jane Bates. James Franklin "Frank" Wheat married Ruby Lee Finley a 1913. James Franklin "Frank" Wheat died on 6 Mar 1975 at Blytheville, Mississippi Co, Arkansas, at age 82.

     Ada Elizabeth Wheat was born on 27 Sep 1894 at Alabama. She was the daughter of Woodruff "Ruff" Albert Wheat and Paralee Jane Bates.

     Lillian "Lilly" Mae Wheat was born on 5 Jan 1903 at Alabama. She was the daughter of Woodruff "Ruff" Albert Wheat and Paralee Jane Bates. Lillian "Lilly" Mae Wheat died in 1975.

     Hugh Mack Wheat was born on 27 Jun 1897 at Alabama. She was the daughter of Woodruff "Ruff" Albert Wheat and Paralee Jane Bates. Hugh Mack Wheat died in May 1966 at Blytheville, Mississippi Co, Arkansas, at age 68.

Charlie Greene Millender married Annie Robertson in May 1898 at Alabama. Charlie Greene Millender died on 24 Feb 1945 at Oklahoma at age 71. He was buried at Highland Cemetery, Durant, Bryan Co, Oklahoma.

William Elisha Millender II married Bertie B. Downs in 1900 at Alabama. William Elisha Millender II died on 23 Nov 1928 at age 51.

     Minnie Millender was born in Feb 1879 at Alabama. She was the daughter of SGT William "Bill" Elisha Millender I and Nancy Ellen Wheat. Minnie Millender married W. S. Sanders on 9 Dec 1900 at Shelby Co, Alabama.

     J. Edward "Edwin" Millender was born on 17 Jul 1883 at Alabama. He was the son of SGT William "Bill" Elisha Millender I and Nancy Ellen Wheat. J. Edward "Edwin" Millender died on 28 Sep 1907 at Shelby Co, Alabama, at age 24. He was buried at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Harpersville, Shelby Co, Alabama.

     Lewis E. Millender was born on 26 Feb 1888 at Alabama. He was the son of SGT William "Bill" Elisha Millender I and Nancy Ellen Wheat. Lewis E. Millender died on 13 Sep 1977 at Shelby Co, Alabama, at age 89. He was buried at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Harpersville, Shelby Co, Alabama.
