He was buried at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Harpersville, Shelby Co, Alabama.
William Albert Weathers' 5 Jun 1917 World War I draft registration lists him as Will Weathers, age 27, born in Shelby Co, residing in Harpersville, Shelby Co, AL. He was a farmer employed by J. F. Pope in Harpersville. He stated his mother was solely dependent on him for her support.

William served in the Army from 17 Sep 1917 to 10 Jan 1919 in Battery A, 116 Field Artillery in World War I. William appeared on the 1920 Munford, Talladega Co, AL census. He was residing in a rented home with his wife Adde, father Bill Weathers and a black servant age 25 named Mattie Stephens. They were living next door to the family of his sister Amanda Ola Weathers Winslett who established his full name as William Albert Weathers in interviews and written correspondence.

By 1930 William was renting a farm at Chancellor Ferry Road, Harpersville, Shelby Co, AL with his growing family. In 1935 and 1940 he was noted as renting a farm in Harpersville, Shelby Co, AL; it is unclear if he is still on Chancellor Ferry Road because it is annotated as rural. By 1940 his mother Elizabeth was living with the family.

Mother:Louisa 'Lou' Elizabeth "Eliza" Smith (4 Feb 1833 - 20 Jul 1915)
Lou Anna 'Annie' Strong was born in Jan 1877 at Tallapoosa Co, Alabama. She was the daughter of PVT John Allen Strong and Louisa 'Lou' Elizabeth "Eliza" Smith. Lou Anna 'Annie' Strong died on 27 Feb 1929 at Sylacauga, Talladega Co, Alabama, at age 52.
The only reference to Lou Anna Strong marrying Bill Galloway came from an interview with Henry and Amanda Winslett; the interview was followed up by transcribing the interview notes and sending them to the Winsletts for confirmation. On the typed transcription Henry Winslett added the given name of Bill for Lou Anna's marriage to a Galloway. Lou Anna was Henry's aunt. No other records were found regarding this marriage and Henry did not list her marriage to Jasper Carden. A Wm F. Galloway was born ~1875 in Tallapoosa Co, AL and married Flossie when he was age 33, but no way yet to tell if this was the person.

Based on their birth dates, a number of Etress men in Shelby Co, AL could have been the father of Lou Anna Strong's daughter Olar B. Etress.

Lou Anna was enumerated as Lauana Corden on the 1910 Shelby Co census and shown living with Jasper Corden and her five children.
